During the weekend Spanish publication Binaural announced that a new Public Enemy project was on its way causing certain pockets of the internet to go into speculation overdrive trying to substantiate the validity of these rumours.
The most prolific of Public Enemy’s members, Chuck D, is currently on tour in Europe with Prophets of Rage, his supergroup that features the likes of Rage Against The Machine’s Tim Commerford, Cypress Hill’s B-Real plus DJ Lord, Tom Morello and Brad Wilk.
That didn’t stop him from confirming to HipHopDX via text message that the rumours were in fact true and we will be hearing another Public Enemy album very soon. The release date has been set at July 4th and the project, titled “Nothing Is Quick In The Desert”, will be free to the public and readily available to download online.
We can only assume that their 15th studio album will follow suit with previous projects and be a politically charged ode to the USA and current state of it.
