Eminem has never been shy about his battle rap roots, he paid homage to the scene in the semi-autobiographical hit ‘8 Mile’. Now he’s shining a light on the culture again with a comedy film that is directed by music video aficionado Joseph Kahn who has produced clips for DJ Dre, Britney Spears, U2 and Taylor Swift.
‘Bodied’ centres around a progressive graduate student who garners praise but also sparks outrage as his thesis subject becomes a full blow obsession. The premise of the film is to explore race relations in general, it will be premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival next month.
First King of the Dot champion, Kid Twist, is the screen writer for the movie which features appearances from battle rap legends like Dizaster, Dumbfoundead, Charron and Hollow Da Don. Other cast members include Charlamagne Tha God, Anthony Michael Hall, Callum Worthy, and Rory Uphold and Debra Wilson.
