Someone like J. Cole doesn’t come around very often, his last album Forest Hills Drive went double platinum with no features. So when we got news of his fourth studio album coming out in December we were excited, as you should be.
Jermaine Cole has been quietly working away at this new release after announcing two months ago during a gig that it would be his last live performance for a while, possibly because of the upcoming birth of his first child. His new project is called 4 Your Eyez Only, probably referencing 2Pac’s album All Eyez On Me considering he’s been named as perhaps the biggest influence on the North Carolina MC’s music.
There was no Twitter or Facebook post to let everyone know about his upcoming work, only an iTunes preorder page that popped up yesterday. Prior to the release of his next project Cole has dropped a 40 minute documentary called Eyez that details his day to day life making music.
4 Your Eyez Only will be released on December the 9th, marking the 2nd anniversary of his critically acclaimed 2014 album Forest Hills Drive. It will be distributed by Columbia records but J.Cole will continue under the umbrella of Roc Nation while he also runs his own label Dreamville.
