HBO has begun working on a half-hour single-camera comedy series that explores the phenomenon and craziness of sneaker culture. The show is yet to be named, but originally stems from Warner Bros. TV and their multi-year deal with Springhill Entertainment, LeBrons James’s and Maverick Carter’s company.
The pair are not strangers to the industry and have been heavily endowed with the world of sneakers since 2003 when a massive bidding war was waged to sign LeBron to a shoe company with Nike eventually winning out. They also invested in a store in Miami during James’s time there and Carter currently serves on the advisory board of KITH.
Details about the show are still relatively scarce, however, we do know that it will be based around two best friends and their eccentric employees running a sneaker store outside L.A.
