With a very successful grand opening yesterday in Melbourne Central it’s safe to say JD Sports is well and truly ready to take Australia by storm.
The UK sportswear giants have been a strong presence in the scene for over 35 years now and recently set their sites on Australia. With the name ‘JD Sports’ already etched firmly into the minds of Australian sneaker aficionados through music, TV and word of mouth the move by JD was received with great excitement as rumours spread through community last year. Known for some of the best exclusives from the biggest brands in the industry such as Nike, Adidas, PUMA, The North Face, Lacoste and more JD are expected to fair very well in the Australian market.
Their Melbourne Central store is located on the first floor of the centre, it features a very large layout that is split into two sections; apparel and footwear. With the left wing of the store housing their wide range of footwear the right side of the store caters to apparel for men, women and children. The footwear section is broken down into dedicated sections ranging from performance to leisure for both men and women with specific areas focusing on football boots, slides and junior styles. Digital kiosks are scattered throughout the store and give shoppers the option to purchase stock that is sold out in store – upon placing their order the customer will be met by a representative from JD with a portable eftpos machine for added safety when ordering through the stores e-shopping interface.
After releasing a wide lineup of previously sold out styles on launch day it seems that JD doesn’t plan on stopping with a highly limited restock of the illustrious Nike VaporMax releasing this Saturday (APRIL 29th).
