In a time filled with a substantial amount of hype around retro running it’s not often that we see a silhouette that was as big amongst die-hard running fans as the DS-Trainer. During the 90’s the Asics Gel line was really taking off, in bold head turning colourways and tech that was quickly credited to being some of the best out there it’s no wonder why the DS-Trainer was such a success. Fast forward to 2017 and we’ve seen Size? work their magic on the silhouette alongside the OG colourways release striking a comeback for the style.
Earlier this month we saw Copenhagen based Wood Wood team with Asics for a collaborative dig through the AT archives which resulted in part 1 of their take on the DS-Trainer – Finished with silvery accents they were inspired by the iconic disc based media players of the 90’s. Now we reach part 2, a slightly more ‘retro’ theme can be found in the design here, taking it’s inspirations from the Dieter Rams technology of the 60’s we see this pair with a far more subtle palette of grey suedes and mesh, tan leather accents and a black sock liner.
You can catch these from May 27th at Australian retailers such as Laced and HAL.
